SEOUL, South Korea – Oct. 17, 2025 –

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (CanCham Korea) and the Québec Korea Business Association (QKBA) announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for deep collaboration. This partnership aims to build a more collaborative ecosystem for Korean and Canadian entrepreneurs and foster robust ties in business, innovation and culture, with a specific focus on the dynamic market of Québec. The MOU was signed following pivotal support from the Québec Government Office in Seoul (DQS).

June E. Kang, chair of CanCham Korea, said the chamber is excited about the new collaborative opportunities.

“CanCham Korea is honoured to begin this new chapter of collaboration with the Québec Korea Business Association,” Kang said. “We look forward to sharing updates on joint initiatives and opportunities as this exciting partnership unfolds, helping Canadian and Korean businesses thrive in each other’s markets.”

Hyelim Juliana Kim, founder and president of QKBA, emphasized the MOU’s significance for strengthening bilateral ties.

“The signing of this MOU represents a significant step forward in strengthening the economic, cultural, and innovation ties between Québec and Korea,” Kim said. “QKBA is honoured to formalize this collaboration and remains committed to fostering long-term collaboration and mutual growth for our communities and our members.”

Damien Pereira, chief representative of the Québec Government Office in Seoul, highlighted the growing maturity of the Québec-Korea relationship.

“The Québec Government Office in Seoul is proud to support this partnership, which stands as a testament to the vitality and growing maturity of the economic exchanges between Québec and Korea,” Pereira said. “By joining forces, business communities on both sides are opening new channels of market access and strengthening lasting bridges for trade, investment, and innovation.”

This strategic collaboration comes at a crucial time as both countries prioritize trade diversification. The partnership is designed to combine QKBA's insights into the Québec and Canadian market with CanCham Korea's on-the-ground knowledge of Korea.

The organizations will leverage their networks to exchange knowledge, share influence, and provide essential guidance and trusted local contacts to companies looking to expand. The focus areas for joint initiative will be key growth sectors where Québec holds specialized expertise, including defence, technology, clean energy, and innovation.

By working together, CanCham Korea and QKBA will create new opportunities for businesses on both sides, strengthen market access, and increase visibility for both organizations and for the relationship between Québec and Korea.
